How it works
Four sea shuttles — Happiness, Bliss, Joy and Euphoria — run from the pier at Sandy Ground Beach (by Johnos) straight to the island. Look for the Sandy Island sign at the parking lot entrance. The crossing takes minutes. Round trip fare is $40 per person. Reservations are appreciated but walk-ins are part of the charm.
Aim to be at Sandy Ground before 11am — the island fills up and you'll want a full afternoon. Kitchen closes at 3pm, last return shuttle at 4pm, so pace yourself accordingly. Once on the island, order food early — the kitchen gets busy and good things take time.
Arriving by private yacht or charter boat? Anchor at the designated mooring area and dinghy to shore, or enter the protected bay through the NW channel markers. All visiting vessels need to check in with the Customs and Marine Office in Sandy Ground first.
